What Is Be Water

One story. Every screen.

Be Water is a hybrid event that connects in-cinema viewers with online audiences through a collaborative immersive experience. Its multi-device platform allows people to participate using a phone, laptop, TV, or VR/MR headset, creating a shared cultural experience that connects audiences across physical and digital spaces. Be Water events are supported by the “Immersual platform”, designed to connect artists working on socially impactful subjects with audiences worldwide while addressing censorship concerns and enabling audience anonymity for those who wish to support artworks anonymously.

About the Event

Four years of Woman, Life, Freedom.

For this event, Be Water focuses on the Woman, Life, Freedom movement on its fourth anniversary. This month marks four years since the 2022 uprising in Iran. On 16 September 2022, 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Jina Amini died in police custody after being detained for allegedly violating mandatory hijab rules. Her death ignited nationwide protests demanding fundamental rights and freedoms. The short animation “For Freedom” is a tribute to the movement.
